Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad and King Abdullah II hold meeting to discuss regional issues
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim
bin Hamad Al Thani and His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the
Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan held an official talks session today at Basman
Palace in Amman. The discussions focused on the deep fraternal ties between the
two countries and ways to strengthen them, as well as the latest regional
developments.
At the outset, His Majesty King
Abdullah II welcomed HH the Amir and his accompanying delegation, expressing
his appreciation for the visit and the opportunities it offers to enhance bilateral
cooperation. He emphasized Jordan’s full solidarity with the State of Qatar and
support for all measures taken to safeguard Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial
integrity following the recent Israeli aggression. His Majesty also commended
Qatar’s efforts under the leadership of HH the Amir in advancing peace and
stability at both regional and international levels.

For his part, HH the Amir expressed sincere gratitude for the warm reception and generous hospitality, reaffirming his keenness to strengthen the historic ties and expand the strategic partnership between the two brotherly nations across multiple fields. He also conveyed his appreciation for Jordan’s steadfast solidarity and support in light of the Israeli attack, underscoring Qatar’s determination to take all necessary measures to protect its security and sovereignty.
Both leaders reviewed the steady
growth in Qatari-Jordanian relations and stressed their joint commitment to
further enhance cooperation, particularly in the economic and investment
sectors.
The talks also addressed regional
and international issues of common concern, with a special focus on the
Palestinian cause. HH the Amir and HM the King reiterated their firm support
for the Palestinian people in achieving their legitimate rights, while
emphasizing the importance of political solutions to regional crises to ensure
security and stability.
The session was attended by senior
officials from both sides, including HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin
Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, and
HE Dr. Jafar Hassan, Prime Minister of Jordan, alongside ministers and senior
officials from both countries.

Prior to the session, HH the Amir and HM the King held a bilateral meeting, during which they exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
In recognition of his role in
strengthening bilateral relations, HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani
was awarded the Order of Al Hussein bin Ali, the highest Jordanian order
conferred on heads of state, during a ceremony at Basman Palace.
The visit concluded with a luncheon
banquet hosted by HM King Abdullah II in honor of HH the Amir and his
delegation.
