Qatar to deliver aid to starving Gazans
Following directives from H.H. the
Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar has inaugurated a land bridge to
deliver urgent humanitarian aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, routed
through Jordan and Egypt. The initiative aims to alleviate suffering and meet
the immediate needs of affected communities.
The move comes in the wake of the
Sharm El Sheikh Summit for Peace, which saw the signing of an agreement to end
the conflict in Gaza, and reflects Qatar’s ongoing commitment to supporting the
Palestinian people.
Through this initiative, 87,754
shelter tents have been provided by the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD),
Qatar Charity, and the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS). These tents are
expected to offer safe and dignified shelter to approximately 436,170
individuals from families affected by the conflict, at a time when over 288,000
families have lost their homes due to Israeli military actions.
