Qatar shows stellar performance at West Asian Athletics Championship in Beirut 

Qatar’s national athletics team delivered a stellar performance on the opening day of the 3rd West Asian Athletics Championships for Youth and Women, clinching a total of six medals — four gold and two silver — and rising to the top of the medal standings.

The championship, which runs until October 5, brings together athletes from 12 West Asian countries competing in a wide range of track and field events.

Qatar’s gold medal winners include:

Mubarak Saeed  – 3,000m

Abdulrahman Mohammed – 400m hurdles

Dana Salem – 100m (Junior Women)

Maryam Al Salik – 3,000m (Junior Women)

 

The silver medals were earned by:

Abdulrazzaq Idris  – 400m hurdles

Saleh Mahmoud – Shot put

 

These early successes have positioned Qatar at the top of both the youth and women’s categories.

With a strong and diverse team competing across multiple disciplines, Qatar is aiming to maintain its momentum as the championship progresses in Beirut.
