Al Malki highlighted the numerous challenges Somalia faces, including issues of stability, security, and economic development, stressing the need for international solidarity in supporting the country’s national processes.
He outlined that political reforms, especially completing constitutional amendments, rebuilding institutions, reinforcing the rule of law, and promoting human rights, are crucial to Somalia’s state-building efforts. Al Malki also underscored that the inclusivity of these reforms must involve all Somali factions to ensure legitimacy and a national consensus-based approach.
Addressing the humanitarian situation, Al Malki pointed out that Somalia continues to suffer from the impacts of drought, food shortages, and internal displacement.
