Qatar wins nine medals, including four gold, at Arab Junior Athletics Championship
Qatar’s youth athletics team closed
out the 11th Arab Junior Athletics Championship in style, collecting nine
medals in the Tunisian capital, including four golds.
On the final day, Mubarak Saeed
captured gold in the 1500m, while Abdulrazzaq Idris stormed to victory in the 400m
hurdles. Their triumphs added to earlier golds from Younes Al-Baloushi in pole
vault and Saleh Mahmoud in shot put.

Qatar’s overall tally stood at four
gold, two silver, and three bronze medals. Runner Timo Jumaa contributed with a
silver in the 100m and a bronze in the 200m, while Abdullah Al-Abdullah secured
the second silver in pole vault. Hussein Mohammed added bronze in the 110m
hurdles, with Mahmoud also claiming third place in discus.
The ten-member Qatari contingent
competed across track and field events against athletes from 15 Arab nations,
underscoring the team’s growing strength on the regional stage.
