Qatar Charity dispatches emergency relief
for flood-affected families in Sudan
Qatar Charity (QC) has launched an
emergency relief operation to assist thousands of families impacted by the
devastating floods that have swept across several Sudanese states. The
initiative, funded by generous donors in Qatar, aims to deliver critical aid to
communities already struggling amid ongoing conflict.
QC said the intervention comes at a
crucial time, as the approaching autumn season raises the risk of disease
outbreaks. The charity plans to provide emergency assistance to more than
100,000 of Sudan’s most vulnerable flood victims in the states of Khartoum,
White Nile, Al Jazirah, and River Nile.

Record-high water levels in the Nile, Blue Nile, and White Nile rivers have destroyed homes and farmland, displacing thousands and leaving many in urgent need of shelter, food, and medical support.
Qatar Charity’s field teams in Sudan
have begun on-the-ground assessments to identify immediate needs in food
security, shelter, and healthcare. Priority is being given to vulnerable groups
— including women, children, the elderly, and people with disabilities — to
help them recover from the initial devastation and begin rebuilding their
lives.
