Qatar Charity has launched an
emergency relief operation for families impacted by the powerful earthquake
that struck Afghanistan’s Kunar province, leaving more than 2,200 people dead
and thousands injured.
In the initial phase of its
response, the organization distributed 393 weather- and fire-resistant tents to
households that lost their homes. Under its “Food is Life” initiative, it also
provided 260 food packages and 260 kitchen kits, with each food pack sufficient
to sustain a family for one month.
