Ambassador highlights Qatar’s role in global mediation efforts
Qatar’s mediation efforts, combined
with its diplomatic and humanitarian initiatives, are creating integrated
pathways that strengthen opportunities for peace and stability, according to HE
Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Thani, Ambassador of the State of
Qatar to the United Kingdom.
Speaking at a discussion dinner
organized by the Labour Foreign Policy Group (LFPG) on the sidelines of the UK
Labour Party Conference in Liverpool, in cooperation with Qatar’s Embassy in
London, the envoy highlighted Qatar’s role in the Middle East and North Africa,
as well as its focus on development and the situation in Gaza.

He emphasized that achieving lasting peace in the region requires meeting fundamental humanitarian needs and warned that restrictions on humanitarian aid are worsening conditions in Gaza.
The ambassador stressed that denying
civilians access to aid constitutes a grave violation of international
humanitarian law. He underscored the importance of continued support for the
United Nations, particularly the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for
Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
