Qatar Charity opens new field office in Lebanon to serve the communities in need

Qatar Charity (QC) has officially inaugurated its newest field office in Beirut, marking a significant step in expanding its global humanitarian and development presence.

The ceremony was attended by HE Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Jassim Al-Thani, Chairman of Qatar Charity; HE Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Ambassador of Qatar to Lebanon; and HE Dr. Nawaf Salam, Prime Minister of Lebanon. Lebanese ministers, parliamentarians, civil society representatives, and QC officials were also present.

In his remarks, HE Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser stressed QC’s commitment to operating close to the communities it serves, either through its extensive network of field offices or partnerships with UN agencies, international organizations, and local institutions.

“Opening our office in Lebanon strengthens our ability to respond effectively, plan collaboratively, and deliver impactful humanitarian work,” he said. He further noted that the new office would align with Lebanon’s national development priorities in cooperation with government entities.

HE Ambassador Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman reaffirmed Qatar’s enduring solidarity with Lebanon, emphasizing that the new office reflects the strength of Qatar-Lebanon ties and QC’s mission to support both Lebanese citizens and refugees during ongoing challenges.

Lebanese Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam described the inauguration as a milestone in bilateral relations. “This is not merely an administrative step, but a testament to the depth of Lebanon-Qatar relations and the Qatari leadership’s commitment to stand by Lebanon in its most difficult times,” he said.

He recalled Qatar’s swift humanitarian response during the recent Israeli aggression and its vital role in supporting Syrian refugees in Lebanon. “We hope this office will open new horizons for structured collaboration with the Lebanese state, enabling impactful projects in development, health, education, and humanitarian relief,” he added.

The ceremony concluded with HE Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser and QC CEO Yousuf bin Ahmed Al Kuwari presenting a commemorative shield to Prime Minister Salam in recognition of his contributions to Arab cooperation and humanitarian advocacy.
