Arab League approves Qatar’s proposal to establish Arab Committee for International Humanitarian Law  

Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi praised the Arab League Council of Ministers for unanimously approving Qatar’s proposal to establish a Permanent Arab Committee for International Humanitarian Law.

The Minister described the decision as a landmark achievement for the Arab world and a key step toward strengthening regional cooperation to promote the principles of humanitarian law and ensure adherence to international obligations amid ongoing regional challenges.

Al Mohannadi commended the efforts of Qatar’s National Committee for International Humanitarian Law, chaired by Saeed bin Abdullah Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice.

He highlighted the committee’s success in working closely with its counterparts in other Arab states to draft a proposal that reflects the shared aspirations of the region.
