Qatar Airways Cargo signs agreement with Cainiao to promote global e-commerce

Qatar Airways Cargo and Cainiao have deepened their strategic partnership to accelerate cross-border e-commerce between China and Europe, pledging faster, more flexible, and more reliable delivery solutions.

The agreement, signed at the Cainiao Global Smart Logistics Summit in Hangzhou, will see Cainiao more than double its weekly charter flights on key China–Europe routes. By tapping into Qatar Airways Cargo’s global network and operational strength, the partnership aims to enhance scheduling flexibility for merchants and support Chinese businesses expanding into overseas markets.

Mark Drusch, Chief Officer Cargo at Qatar Airways Cargo, said the alliance combines “Qatar Airways Cargo’s expansive global network and fleet” with Cainiao’s leadership in logistics, enabling both companies to meet surging e-commerce demand.

Cainiao CEO Wan Lin highlighted the company’s long-term vision: “This partnership strengthens our network and advances our goal of achieving global delivery within 72 hours, building on the benchmarks we set with our Global 5-Day Delivery service in 2023.”

The long-term collaboration underscores mutual trust between the two companies and reflects their shared ambition to shape the future of cross-border logistics. By expanding capacity and streamlining trade flows, the partnership is expected to boost Sino-European commerce and drive innovation across the global e-commerce sector.
