Qatar Energy grants contract
to Technip Energies for delivery of two major LNG trains
Technip
Energies, leading a joint venture with Consolidated
Contractors Company (CCC) and Gulf Asia Contracting (GAC), has been awarded
a major EPCC contract by QatarEnergy
for the onshore LNG facilities of the North Field West (NFW) project.
The contract covers the delivery of
two mega LNG trains, each with a production capacity of 8 million tonnes per
year (tpy). The new trains will replicate those currently being built by
Technip Energies and CCC under the North Field South (NFS) development.
As with the North Field East (NFE)
and NFS expansions, the NFW project will incorporate carbon capture and
sequestration facilities. An additional 1.1 million tpy of carbon dioxide will
be captured and stored, bringing the combined total from NFS and NFW to 2.2
million tpy.

The North Field West expansion is expected to add approximately 16 million tpy of LNG production capacity. Once completed alongside the NFE and NFS projects, Qatar’s total LNG export capacity will increase from 77 million tpy to 142 million tpy, reinforcing the country’s position as a leading global LNG supplier.
Qatar remains strategically
important for Technip Energies, which has maintained a strong local presence in
the country since 1986.
Arnaud Pieton, Chief Executive
Officer of Technip Energies, said the award underscores QatarEnergy’s continued
confidence in the company and strengthens their long-standing strategic
partnership. He noted that the collaboration is built on shared values,
consistent performance, delivery reliability and a common vision for the future
of LNG.

Pieton added that the contract not only ensures continuity across the North Field developments but also represents a significant contribution toward meeting rising global LNG demand. Together with CCC and GAC, Technip Energies will continue delivering large-scale, efficient LNG facilities with significantly reduced carbon intensity.
