Qatar officially signs declaration for protection of humanitarian personnel

The State of Qatar has officially signed the Declaration for the Protection of Humanitarian Personnel, joining over 100 countries in reaffirming its commitment to international humanitarian principles.

The signing took place on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 80) in New York. The declaration was signed on behalf of Qatar by HE Dr. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, Minister of State for International Cooperation.

The declaration underscores the need to enhance protection for humanitarian workers operating in conflict zones and to ensure stronger compliance with international humanitarian law. It aims to safeguard those delivering life-saving assistance in some of the world’s most dangerous environments.
