Qatar edges India 2-1 in U-23
Asian Cup qualifiers
Qatar secured their second straight
win in the AFC U-23 Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers, edging India 2-1 in Group H
action on Saturday.
India began brightly and threatened
early, but Qatar struck first in the 18th minute when Al Hashmi al-Hussain’s
towering header looped over goalkeeper Sahil Poonia.
India equalised in the 52nd minute
through Muhammad Suhail, who headed in Mohammed Sanan’s cross. Their momentum
was cut short 13 minutes later when Pramveer Singh was shown a second yellow
card for fouling Noureldin Ibrahim in the box. Jassem al-Sharshani calmly
