Qatar to host final three matches of 2025 FIFA Intercontinental Cup

Qatar has been officially confirmed as the host nation for the concluding phase of the 2025 FIFA Intercontinental Cup, which will feature the final three matches of the prestigious global club competition.

The event, scheduled for December, will bring together the champions from each continent to compete for the coveted title across three high-stakes matches.

The action kicks off on Wednesday, December 10, with Match 3 — the FIFA Derby of the Americas — where Mexico’s Cruz Azul, winners of the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup, will face the reigning CONMEBOL Libertadores champions. The South American finalists will be decided by November 29.

The winning team will then progress to Match 4 on Saturday, December 13, where they will take on Egypt's Pyramids FC for the FIFA Challenger Cup. Pyramids earned their spot by securing the FIFA African-Asian-Pacific Cup in Jeddah earlier this month, defeating New Zealand’s Auckland City and Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahli.

The tournament will conclude with Match 5, the highly anticipated FIFA Intercontinental Cup Final, on Wednesday, December 17. The victorious team from the Challenger Cup will face UEFA Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain in a bid for the ultimate global club accolade.

Matches 3 and 4 will be held at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, while the venue for the final will be confirmed in due course.

Qatar’s selection as host further solidifies its status as a global football hub. In addition to the Intercontinental Cup, the Gulf nation will also host the FIFA U-17 World Cup and the FIFA Arab Cup in the same November-December window, showcasing the world-class infrastructure built for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
